Great walks of New Zealand

Many people call hiking, but the kiwis call tramping. ?That is, any longer walk a day, especially if you are on a mountain pass or through the bush. ?It usually involved carrying out a back-pack (ruck-sack), although in most popular tramping (e.g. Milford Track) routes can sign for where you only need to carry their belongings and food for the day of guided visits (rather than for the entire trip). ?You requires a reasonable level of fitness to perform some of these walks, but the pure beauty of the landscape and the impressive silence will make this effort an experience of a life - time. ?

Will obviously the easiest walk, the people most tour, so bear this in mind when deciding where go. ?New Department of conservation (doc Zealand) provides basic cabins on all tracks, usually 5-6 hours walk apart. ?There is a minimal burden to stay in these cabins, normally operating on purchasing tickets in advance online or DOC offices. ?Tracks such as Abel Tasman are very busy during the summer, and accommodation must be booked in DOC in advance.
